Chat I am Really Stressed.

Hey blog. Im very stressed. I don’t know what to do for my CCR. I have been watching a bunch of examples my teacher has given to me but I still don’t dont know what to do. Because if I do a podcast it’s going to be the same as everyone else’s. If i were to do a podcast I would want to make it fun like something similar to the podcasts:

Call Her Daddy by Alex Cooper

Therapuss by Jake Shane

Hot Mess by Alis Earle

Canceled by Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield

If i were to do a podcast I would want to do something similar too these because I watch them on a daily basis and I feel like I could be good at it. I would probably have my dad interview me because he has a big personality and would make it more entertaining. While I am talking I will have different things that correlate what I am talking about pop up on the screen, so I am not just a floating head on the screen.

(as I am writing this I have decided that for one of my CCRs I am going to to a podcast because I am stressing myself out to much and I just need to pick something already)

But I still have no Idea what I am going to do for my second CCR.

I have started editing!!!

Hey bloggggg!! I have started editing!!

So today I began editing and I have made a lot of process. I started off by getting all of the videos from chloe and putting them all into the video editor app VN. I then realized I didn't like how the beginning clips of Lily walking into school looked like. So I cut them and added black screens in between each clip to match with the beat of the song

After a lot of trial and error I eventually really liked how it turned out and decided to focus on the other half of the opening which I knew was going to be more difficult. So I was looking at the rest of the videos. And the order that chloe wanted them in didnt quite make sense. So I talked to her and after a little bit she agreed with me and then we moved around the order of the clips. After I was pleased with how everything looked visually I began to work on the audio.

Once I started working on the audio I realized that I didn't have the voice recordings. So I texted all of the people in the opening and now I am just waiting on responses. So far all of the videos look transitioning into another look really good, and hopefully all of the talking will look good on top of the clips.

We are done filming!!

Heyy bloggg! So we are finally done filming!!!! On Thursday Chloe and our friends went to gator run park to film the bathroom scene. Unfortunately I was unable to be there because like I said previously I am in Utah.

In the bathroom, Chloe used her backpack, two notebooks, and two pencils, as mise-en-scene elements. Our actor Lily, obviously wore her backpack to show that she also is a student. We wanted to give the idea that Lily, our main character, threw her backpack on the ground because she was nauseous and everything had fallen out of her bag. In the shots, her bag was kind of wide open with things falling out of it to give the effect that she had just thrown it down.

Next Chloe filmed the part where lily is dry heaving into the toilet. So there is no actual puke coming out. In the actual video you can hear some type of static noise so I am going to have to voice record someone fake puking into the toilet and put it over the video. Chloe also added a part where Lily looked up at her friend after she asks if he is ok and then continues to throw up tho show how sick lily is.

Both Lily and her friend scramble to pick up all of Lily’s items off the floor and get back to class. It adds a sense of stress and an idea that the throwing up was more of a secret so they have to scramble to get back to class. Chloe tried two different ways of leaving the bathroom. For one of them, Lily and her friend left the bathroom at the same time. But for the other approach, Lily would follow her friend but stop and look in the mirror for a second to pull her top down, making it seem that she has been gaining a little weight and anxious about her body.

Overall Im very happy with how all of our filming turned out and I am super excited to start editing!!

More filming

Hi blog!!!!! Right now I am writing from my hotel in Utah, but in class on Wednesday Me and my partner did a lot of filming.

We filmed all of the scene of Lily walking into school and all through out the hall way where people say Hi to her and congratulate her for being valedictorian. We started off in a hallway in our school. We had a lot of our friends be extras, and we also asked a few people walking by to be in our film opening. We also plan on having all of the opening credits displayed throughout this scene

Unfortunately for the first few minutes of when we were filming I was taking a test, But our friend Alexandra was able to film for us. We started off by filming Lily walking through the doors of the school. We had a boy from our school walk across the camera to give the effect that the school is busy and give it a realistic feel. My friend Lucy came out of the doors as Lily was walking in, reinforcing the school environment idea.

After that I found Chloe and she caught me up on what they had done while I was finishing up my test. We then filmed the next part of Lily walking through the hallways and different people say hi and congratulate her.

All of the different staff and students saying hi to Lily shows how well known she is between the staff and the students.

We were also able to film the part of the opening where Lily walks into school

We had the security guard say "Hi Lily" to really enhanced the idea of everyone knowing her. One of the main conflicts Lily has in this film's opening; her popularity and bright future make her so well-known that when people find out she is pregnant, it will have a huge effect on her.

Overall I am nervous to see how fluid all of the different cuts are going to look together. Im and hopping that I have nothing to actually to worry about but I will find out when I start to edit. All we have left now is the bathroom scene so hopefully that goes well as I wont be able to be there for that because I am in Utah.

The rest of Inside the classroom!!

Hey blog so on Wednesday we also filmed the part right before the flashback. After filming the beginning part of the scene with the teacher we realized that we didn't have anything for him to say until after the flashback so we had our actor improvise and start talking about whatever he wanted. While editing I will start to muffle the teacher voice while Lily is zoning out to really make sure that the focus is on her. The muffled voice of the teacher gives the effect that lily is no longer focusing on the teacher.

While filming the part where Lily and Jake make eye contact my partner had some issues with the lighting. The problem was that our actor Dino, who is playing Jake, was facing away from the window which messed up the lighting. So, we tried to lower the exposure which ended up working,

During the eyeline match we had Jake look away to create a sense of tension and regret. While filming Chloe was having a hard time trying to look zoned out, but eventually she got it. Here are two different angles we have of the eyeline match.

We are probably going to use the farther one first and the closer one after to show that the more Lily looks at Jake the more she thinks about him and the more she thinks about that night. We filmed Jake in a medium shot with an extra behind him doing her work to help develop our setting

Since we pretty much filmed all of our in school shots on Monday, today all we have to film in school is the scene where Lily walks into school and a bunch of people say hi to her. Me and my partner plan on filming this today in our lunch period. We are going to bring a bunch of our friends as extras to make it seem more realistic. In the hallways we are going to have people saying hi to Lily while fun upbeat music is playing. This is also where our credits will be displayed. Hopefully after today all we have to do is the bathroom scene.

We are making progress!!!!

Heyyy bloggggg!!! Yesterday in class we did most of our filming. Some of consisted of the scene where Lily walks out of the bathroom and inside the classroom when the teacher is talking to the class. Me and Mrs. Stoklosa came up with a plan to include our classmates as extras to make each scene more realistic. We were lucky enough to have around 10 willing classmates help us with these scenes.

We started off by filming outside our classroom. My partner chloe who is playing Lily walked out old the bathroom after she had just thrown up and walks past Jake. here are some pictures of me and chloe filming this

our plan was to have people walking all different directions in the hallway to make it seem like as if people were walking from class to class. We also had people talking in the background. While editing I am going to add some background noise of people talking but muffled to make it seem like Lily is only thinking about what had just happened.

I know this seems bad because i wasn’t there for the first day of filming but I had to leave early because of a lacrosse game so I wasn’t there for the rest of the filming but chloe was keeping me updated me throughout the rest and texting asking for my input as well.

In the classroom scene, we had one of our classmates play the teacher. We had him stand in front of the class in filmed him at low angle to show is authority and Chloe had our two classmates look at him while he was talking. Here is what the looked like:

We had the teacher say “good morning” and just have a friendly conversation with the class to make the environment more comfortable and natural. We are going to add a voice over of the whole conversation(the teacher with the students response) and then layer students chattering in the background while editing.

Overall, I am so happy how things are turning out so far!!

We Have Started filming!!!

Heyyyyyy blogggg!! Good news!!! WE HAVE STARTED FILMING!!!!!!!!! But unfortunately I wasn't able to be there with my partner so a few of our friends helped us.

We started off with the bed scene because it's one of the two scenes we can't film in school. We had our "Lily" Chole, who is my partner for this project. We had her get dressed in her dads button down and did her hair and makeup so that it looked like she had slept in it. Here is her getting ready with the help of our friends while on facetime with me.

(Me on the phone with Chloe while she is doing her makeup)

For makeup, we knew Chloe needed to look super rough as if the makeup had been on for a while. She used  Caliray mascara under her eyes, and our friend Lauren smudged the Charlotte Tillbury Pillowtalk lipstick on the side of my lip to give the effect that she was kissing someone.

(A facetime photo I took of chole while our friend Lauren did her hair)

For the hair, we just had aluren put it in a low messy bun, again, to give it the effect of as if Chloe, AKA Lily had slept on it all night.

Tomorrow in school we will be filming pretty much the rest of our film opening. Like the classroom scene, where we will be having our classmate Dino play Jake. We are not really sure who is going to play the teacher yet but we aren't to worried because we know someone in class will be more than happy to help us. After tomorrow we only have one scene left to film which is the the throw up scene and we hope on filming it some time this week.

Bye blog im really excited that we are making a lot of progress!!!!!

What Is a CCR

Hiiii! So the other day in class we learned about what a CCR is and how to create it. Pretty much it’s two media products that are used to answer four questions. In total both product combined can only be 10 minutes and it is worth 20 out of 50 points of our grade. The purpose of the CCR is to reflect on our production. In the two media products we have to express our personality.

During the CCR it is important to incorporate clips from our film openings so that we aren't just a floating head talking, as that can get very boring. Some ideas that my teacher gave us for our CCR is creating a presentation, like a powerpoint or canva, with a voice over. Personally I don't think I will be doing this as I don't think that it shows my personality. Another idea she gave us was Director commentary. It's a combination of the director speaking and audio tracks in the background.

The first question is "How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?" How do answer that you might ask, here's how you do it. You have to start by discussing genre conventions and cite where you found the information. Next, you have to talk about which genre characteristics you used or disagree with. If there are not conventions you disagree with you have to explain why. To end this question you have to explain your representation, how individuals, groups, events, and issues are shown throughout the production.

The second question is “How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?” To answer this question you have to start off by discussing how you arrived at your target audience and cite the necessary research. Next, you have to talk about how tour production choices, content, etc., work together to engage with your target audience. You have to explain how you will make your film available to the audience. And you have to remember that it has to be a realistic option for an armature filmmaker like a streaming service.

The third question is “How did your production skills develop throughout this project?” You start answering this question by reflecting on how your process evolved throughout the production. The start to the end. Then, discuss in specific details on how you began your research and planning. Next, talk about your approach towards your production. What did you have to change or adapt as you worked through your project? Finally you end with a reflection of your process from start to end as a whole. You can include previous class projects.

And last but not least, the fourth and final question. “How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?” While answering this question you have to focus on the how. Discuss any technology, like hardware, software, and online tools that you used while producing your project. Talk about how you used the different types of technology. Did the technology help you solve any problems? Did you learn new technology to achieve a specific aspect? Did you run into any obstacles with the technology? If so what?

To end the projects make sure you include a final statement the includes what you have learned, what you could have done different, and how you can improve.

Makes sure while filming the CCR you don’t sit in front of your computer and talk aimlessly, you may show yourself responding to a question as along as you also edit in other imagines. Don’t just wing it, write a script or an outline so you make sure you know what you are saying. and finally don't provide general responses. Really think about what you are going to say, be very specific, and include a lot of detail.

As of right now, I don’t know what I am doing for my CCR but I am very elicited to figure it out and create something that really shows who I am.

Possible Filming locations

Hi!!! Welcome back! So today I am going to research different places my partner and I can film our opening. We have some idea like outside of Cypress Bay and the hallways although they may be to crowded during passing periods, a public bathroom that has stalls like Gator run park, and My partners bedroom.

Most of our film opening will be in a school. It makes the most sense to film in a school that we both attend so we can get the most out of our class periods and be able to film during school hours. I want to include the white gates outside of Cypress Bay as well as the hallways and classrooms inside so that the film is more realistic.

(not exact but similar)

For the bedroom scene, we are going to film inside my partners room as it has everything a teenage girl needs or wants.

For the bathroom scene, we needed a bathroom that has stalls, like the ones in schools. So we went to Gator Run park and looked in side the bathrooms and they were perfect. They had stalls that make or idea old what we wan to do in our scene come to life.

(not exact but similar)

Now that most of our filming locations are becoming finalized I am excited to start filming and see our vision come to life!!

Teen Pegnancy and Character Development Research

Hi!!! Welcome back! Me and my partner have been really working on our project, but as we get further into our project I have realized that I don"t know much about teen pregnancy or how my partner and I will develop our main character Lily. So I have decided I will do research about the two topics.

Teen pregnancy continues to be a major global public health concern, with significant social, economic, and health effects for the teenagers involved as well as for society as a whole. Teen pregnancy rates remain quite high, especially in poor countries and minority groups within wealthy nations, despite an overall decrease in rates over the previous few decades in many countries, partially due to more protection usage and sex education. Many factors contribute to teen pregnancy, including financial status, high school education, access to healthcare, and cultural views about teenage sexuality and protection. Teen moms are more likely to experience financial difficulties, stop going to school, and to experience health issues that affect both them and their babies. A trend of poverty and limited opportunities continues when children of teenage parents experience a variety of developmental difficulties.

For character development I looked at some films and came across the movie "The Breakfast Club," I loved how the film begins with a straightforward yet powerful montage of an empty high school, voiced over by someone introducing the different stereotypes of the main characters: the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal. These early labels fall apart as the story develops, showing the different personalities and fears of every character and challenging social norms and expectations.

I think for my film this would be cool to include. We can have someone voiceover an explanation of Lily's life. They narrator can explain how she is the smartest in her grade, she never does anything bad, she's always on top of her studies, ect. Until one day she meets this guy named Jake and everything goes downhill. I think that it would help develop Lily a lot by giving the audience background information, and give a better understanding of who Lily is.
